Recent reports have been doing the rounds that one of the major online bingo software providers is in line for being bought out. VirtueFusion provides online bingo software to big players like Bet365, MeccaBingo, and the William Hill betting shop and is the company that is rumored to be up for acquisitioned by Playtech.

Playtech is currently one of the leading online gaming providers, and the current rumored bid reminds the online bingo industry of a similar acquisition in 2006, when Playtech purchased Tribeca Tables. Tribeca was one of the software designers that provided a poker network solution to some of the most esteemed online poker operators.

Spokespersons from both VirtueFursion and Playtech have declined to comment on the rumored bid, but according to sources, the Playtech Company has confirmed that they will pursue an “aggressive acquisition strategy”.

With the purchase of Tribeca, Playtech moved up in the world of online poker, but if the rumored reports are true, Playtech will evidently be an even stronger supplier of bingo online software support systems, and of course a much bigger client list.
