More about this poker room
Details:
Limits and Rake
The limits at Pacific Poker are unified across each of the games offered; making it easier for players to find the playing level that best suits them. Limits start at $0.05/$0.10 and increase in steady amounts through to $75/$150. There are 12 limit levels all told, so there will be a game and a level to suit all caliber of players. A lot of experts consider the low limit games at Pacific Poker to be terrific value as players tend to be loose and the rake is generous. For $0.05/$0.10 games the maximum rake is 6 cents. For the $25/$50 cent game the rake is capped at $0.30 cents. Both of these limits provide excellent value for new poker players. For the $0.5/$1 and $1/$2 games the rake is capped at $1.25, which is also better than most sites. For games above $1/$2 the rake is a standard 5 per cent capped at $3.
Playability
Very juicy indeed. Pacific Poker brings in a high number of gamblers from it's casino operation, so lots of loose action. Navigation around Pacific Poker is easy and the tables have a good look and feel to them. But I consider professional poker players, that make a living out of the game, as investors, I count systematic losers who play for enjoyment as gamblers and Pacific Poker has many of these. Pacific Poker also has a Quick Play, or Pacific Poker direct java version of the game, which means players can log on anywhere, without the need to download the software.
Rake
The rake at Pacific Poker is about average for the industry, with better offers at micro-levels and higher rake at the highest stakes. Like most sites, the poker room has a "no flop, no drop" rake policy, which means the pot is only raked when the flop is seen. A maximum of $1.25 is taken out of the pots up to $1/$2 games. At limits below $1/$2, the house takes less than $1, which gives good value for low-limit players. At higher limits, $2/$4 and above, rake is a maximum of $4 and $5 on the $50/$100 tables. There is no difference in rake based on the number of players in the hand or at the table.

Player Traffic
One of the larger internet poker rooms, Pacific Poker is run by the hugely popular casino, Casino on Net . Pacific Poker run their own events and so draw in a high number of poker players from advertising on TV and the web. There is plenty of action here due to the high number of players and so there is little waiting time required for your favourite events.
Game Variety
Pacific Poker has good game variety and offers all variations of Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo. The heavy concentration on the Hold'em tables makes it an especially good site for Hold'em players. The games vary between No-Limit, Pot-Limit and Fixed-Limit.
